I'm using a trial of GVoice 1.0. It seems to only display the time, but not the date, of each SMS/voicemail. Is this addessed in 1.1?

Unfortunately the Google Voice client itself doesn't report date for anything but the *original* message, so it is not possible as far as I know. I'll look into it further and see if I can find a workaround.

I'd be happy if the date for even just the original message in a conversation can be displayed.

I won't be able to make a date fit in the sms list window. I can add it in the chat window at the top, under the name and number. I'll do that next version.

I paid for the app. I set up push forwarding as instructed. I am not getting any push notifications at all, whether Live Tile or toast, whether SMS or voicemail.

What gives?

Craig, feel free to IM me at koush@clockworkmod.com.

Push on WP7 is a little flaky; it takes the Microsoft servers up to several hours (in my experience) at times to accept push notifications for your device for a new app registration.

Regardless, contact me, and I can look further into the problem. (Send me your unique device address)

Do you update the lock screen with new messages / voicemails? If so, is the icon different than the normal messaging one?

I haven't had any luck actually sending messages with 1.0, so I'm looking forward to 1.1. (I type them, hit send, the text disappears and nothing happens haha)

@Ian I noticed that bug too; it happens if you turn the screen off and then back up, forcing the application to wake. You can fix it by going back and then pressing the conversation again and sending the text.
The fix is available, just waiting on Microsoft to approve...

How come i can't call with Google voice with this app, i tried both selected a contact or entering the number but no dice... Any ideas?

Koush said...

Halloween: are you using PIN Dialing or having Google call you? Try checking the box in login that says "Call me for outgoing calls" and verify you entered the number of the phone, and not your google voice number.

On my phone i checked the "call me to connect ougoing calls"

and yes i have my cell phone number in and not my google phone number. Do I need to put 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx ?

Using the PIN it does call google but i need to enter my PIN and press 2 and the number i want to call.

Still not working, for your information, i have a HTC HD7 with T-Mobile, maybe this phone can't do it?

Koush said...

Is your phone actually added to your list of phones in your Google Voice settings? The app won't call phones that Google Voice does not know about. I'll fix up the setup process in the next version to show the list of phones you have connected to Google Voice so you don't have to enter any numbers.

By re-reading my last comment, you might have interpreted it wrong, i just wanted to point out that another similar app worked, but i like yours a bit better, anyway i'll wait for the next release and see if it works. Thanks for answering my questions
